Policy and Procedure

This policy and procedure template sets out minimum fire safety requirements for residential services, as well as best practice approaches to preparing and responding to all types of emergencies and service delivery interruptions.

The following documents will aid your daily operations and compliance. These can be easily tailored to meet your residential services’ needs and operations. 

  • Staff Training Record – this document can be found at Appendix 4 of the Queensland Government’s Guideline for Medication Assistance and should be used to record all training undertaken by staff. 
  • Fire Safety Management Plan Resources – Guidelines, a checklist, template, and example Fire Safety Management Plan are provided on Queensland Fire and Emergency Services’ website. 
  • [Best Practice] Business Continuity Plan – this document is a best practice option that can be used to prepare for and respond to disruptions to service delivery caused by, for instance, failure of critical systems.
